My name is Sofia Bilbao. I was born and raised in Colombia and lived in my country for 17 years. When I graduated from high school, I wanted to make a radical change in my life. I had the opportunity to visit different parts of the world, and my love for architecture began to grow, which helped me understand what I wanted for my future. I decided to move to the United States to pursue my passion. In 2021, I made the life-changing decision to relocate to New York and joined the architectural technology program at New York City College of Technology. I am currently in my first year. As I reflect on my journey so far, I cannot help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for what lies ahead.

This upcoming summer internship represents a crucial step in my personal and professional growth. This experience will be a great opportunity to be exposed to different career environments in the field, serving as an opportunity to think about the path I would like to follow in a near future. Also, collaborating and learning from individuals who share my passion and interests will have a profound impact on my development. I am committed to making the most of this opportunity and utilizing it as a stepping stone towards my aspiration of becoming a successful architect.
